Big hART
The Drive project was a part of the Big hART award winning crime prevention strategy on the North West coast of Tasmania. Big hART is a community and cultural development organization founded in Burnie, Tasmania in 1992. Big hART’s process is simple; Engage those on the margins of the community in a creative arts process that tells their stories and brings understanding to the issues they and their communities face. In this way the participants make a positive contribution and become part of a solution.
Big hART’s focus is:
Individuals – Changing behavior patterns and building social and economic participation.
Communities - Building connections, capacity for change and sustainability.
Nation – Contributing evaluated solutions and informing social policy debate.
